"THE ONE" PART 2

Tamara reluctantly looked over her shoulders to the phone on her bed. She knew that both of them might have called or left messages. It is a good thing none of them knew where she lived. This time around she took an off app cab outside the club so there was no way Hans would trace her and neither would Zack. She looked back blankly out of the misty window. She was hesitant about picking the phone let alone turning it on. She wasn’t sure what she would find. Both men had a right to be mad, they probably had talked when she left them and discovered she was seeing them both at the same time.  The ding-dong from the door-bell startled her. She tightened her bathrobes straps.  Zack paced up and down the living room. He almost felt every fiber of the bohemian rug beneath his bare feet. He subconsciously tapped the rim of his whiskey half-glass. She still hadn’t switched her phone on. He has no way finding her if not through the phone. He paced over to the decanter and refilled the glass he h

A new year is a beautiful time to press the restart button in your mind. It's a beautiful time to dream and hope again for hope doesn't disappoint. Times and seasons have been given to us to experience the dispensation of eternity.  While it's an exciting time it can also be unsettling if you let worries of the unknown cloud our perspectives. If you focus on the past difficult moments, they will tend to cripple you and cut short your expectations. This is the best moment to condition your mind to forget the former things since a new thing can come up in the present. I have been sharing my birth story. The many lessons I took from the process. One thing I learnt during delivery is that in order to give birth to the child, my mind, spirit and body needed to be actively present in the moment. Also the child grows forward and not backwards. Each day in a child's life is a new developmental milestone. To say you are growing, you need to think and act forward. A n

There were droplets of rain on her window, the rain showers were getting lighter after a huge storm, but maybe not as huge a storm as the one in her head. She looked out the misty panes. Calm was returning outside, she wished she could say the same for her emotions. They were all over, torn apart. She was at crossroads and needed to make a decision fast. Tamara wondered whether a fast decision can also be a correct one. Tamara needed a light quick shower to help clear her mind. Her evening was the most eventful she had ever had. She should have left Zack send her the cab, but wait, this was her chance to make up her mind. She reflected on how the night had panned out, right to this moment; “You will find me at The Brine” boomed Zack. He was in his cab heading out. The heavy mauve trench coat at his side would double up as a gift as it would be his gentleman’s code for when it gets really chilly. He planned on keeping Tamara out late. The Upperhill Nairobi streets and build

MY BIRTH STORY 2.

Image
I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth. Knowing God was with me through birth brought comfort, assurance and strength. Even now that I am going through motherhood, the verse above has been and is my anchor in so many ways.  After birth of a baby, what follows is the removal of the placenta. A woman's body is such a wonder and wired for motherhood that the placenta is not part of your body organs but as soon as conception happens during the first trimester the placenta grows and this helps to support and nourish the  growing baby during pregnancy. After you give birth it cannot continue staying in the body and a new one is usually formed with every pregnancy. So after baby is out you also expell the placenta. This isn’t a complicated process neither is it painful. The placenta naturally detaches itself from the uterine wall through the help of oxytocin hormone. In fact in my case I was asked to cou

MY BIRTH STORY.

Image
It’s been one year since we welcomed our baby into the world and what better way to celebrate than to look back and share with the world how baby was ushered into this world. Am eternally grateful to God for answering my prayers and blowing my mind through His deeds on that particular day. My pregnancy and birth journey was beautiful, I enjoyed every moment of it. 28th November 2021, birthing life is spiritual and it changed my life forever, as I birthed my baby, a new version of me was born and ushered into the world. I discovered hidden untapped strength, boldness and determination. First it is my culture to write my prayers down, especially those that I know impact my life in a different way. Similarly my child delivery plan and desire were written down. I had purposed that after delivery I would go back and tick off in thanksgiving what God had done. On the Friday prior to the Sunday I gave birth, our church held an overnight prayer vigil and I was determined to attend till morning

INTENTIONAL.

Image
During one of my quiet times,  when calm and peace reigned over my soul, God said to me clearly and as loudly as was necessary; " " My daughter, to achieve anything in life, you got to be intentional" These words have been my life motto ever since. I have thought and prayed through that statement and I continue to glean from it. Draw closer and let me share what I have been able to understand on being intentional.  The word intentional carries with it the idea of being purposeful and consistent in purpose or towards a goal. At this point, I will ask you,  in all you do what's your intention, are you deliberate? is there a clear cut goal to whatever you do or say or even how you live out yourlife? What's your driving force?  With everyday comes as an opportunity to become better and do greater thing. Everyday comes loaded with its benefits.God is very deliberate on releasing those benefits daily without fail. It is upon us,  with His help, to beco

Life in God is pleasant, its beautiful to connect with the One who owns you, who knew you before you existed and knows your future. The planner, architect and builder of your life. He is a firm foundation in whom am founded on.  There is an assurance in knowing and understanding that in the various seasons of our lives, we ought not to put God in a box, because what He does is exceeding and abundantly beyond what our mind can fathom.  In the past season of my life, I have learnt to ask and trust God to expand my desires and capacity. I want to think in His frequency. I want to soar and think in the direction of God.  Well it's not my birthday today but I thought it best to  share some of the things I have learnt this far. I trust it will inspire you to become better. Kindly Follow through: 1.I am made in the image and likeness of God. Meaning, in me is the nature and character of my Father. Therefore whatever He commands me to be or to do, I am.  2.I am the only one who
