"THE ONE" PART 2

Tamara reluctantly looked over her shoulders to the phone on her bed. She knew that both of them might have called or left messages. It is a good thing none of them knew where she lived. This time around she took an off app cab outside the club so there was no way Hans would trace her and neither would Zack. She looked back blankly out of the misty window. She was hesitant about picking the phone let alone turning it on. She wasn’t sure what she would find. Both men had a right to be mad, they probably had talked when she left them and discovered she was seeing them both at the same time.  The ding-dong from the door-bell startled her. She tightened her bathrobes straps.  Zack paced up and down the living room. He almost felt every fiber of the bohemian rug beneath his bare feet. He subconsciously tapped the rim of his whiskey half-glass. She still hadn’t switched her phone on. He has no way finding her if not through the phone. He paced over to the decanter and refilled the glass he h

"CHOOSE"

A new year is a beautiful time to press the restart button in your mind. It's a beautiful time to dream and hope again for hope doesn't disappoint. Times and seasons have been given to us to experience the dispensation of eternity.

While it's an exciting time it can also be unsettling if you let worries of the unknown cloud our perspectives. If you focus on the past difficult moments, they will tend to cripple you and cut short your expectations. This is the best moment to condition your mind to forget the former things since a new thing can come up in the present.

I have been sharing my birth story. The many lessons I took from the process. One thing I learnt during delivery is that in order to give birth to the child, my mind, spirit and body needed to be actively present in the moment. Also the child grows forward and not backwards. Each day in a child's life is a new developmental milestone. To say you are growing, you need to think and act forward.

A new day and season is given to us as a reminder that the best way to live is in the present moment looking ahead. Everything you need has been released by God for your advantage. Grace is released to uphold and keep you in any and every season of life. New grace is availed for the next day.

This year, one of the resolutions I made is that I will not entertain any unpleasant moment or experience that I had in the past year. New beginnings are conscious choices that you have to make. I choose to let go. Holding on to what you shouldn't is believing that there is only a past, letting go is knowing that there's a future. I hold on to the lessons learnt because in them there is progress but in the unpleasant memories is anxiety, worry, doubt and fear.

Remember God's promises over you. Hold on to His words concerning the present and future. Choose to be fully persuaded that God is true and commit to follow His instructions. God being the all knowing God sees the end from the beginning and His words can be trusted. He has been to the end of the year by the time He is instructing you on the way you should go. Its better to follow one who had lived the rest of the days than to follow one not sure of what the future holds.

Writing the word of God and His promises really does a lot. While at it, write your goals and ambitions as well. Keep meditating on them. As you keep focusing on them, they are ingrained in your heart.

Here is a quote I read the other day;

The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance.The new year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.”
